High current triggered vacuum switch (TVS) has been developed for switching of current in AC networks with frequency from 50 Hz till hundreds Hz. New TVS has disk electrode system which forms axial magnetic field due to ac current flow. Experimental researches of making and breaking ability of new TVS are carried out at various parameters of discharge current. It is shown that TVS is capable to switch repeatedly a current from units up to tens kA with duration up to tens milliseconds.
